The Zermatt

David, the Trevster and I are in beautiful (but unfortunately not snowy) Midway, UT living it up at the Zermatt Resort. So far we have enjoyed an evening of hot chocolate and cider, as well as a fondue fountain - YUM! David is snoozing on our king-size, four-poster bed watching ESPN on the flat screen and I just got back from a GNO in the hot tub with the girls from work. We're definitely living the fabulous life. Pictures are to come.....

Happy Thanksgiving

The craziness of the holiday season has kicked in and we're going full speed ahead into 2008! But before this year slips away, we have many thanks to give for the wonderful things in our lives. This year we added a brilliant light to our lives - little Trevor! He's turned our lives upside down, and we're loving it. I have had the blessing to be able to work from home so that I can be there for Trevor, but still do a job I love (not to mention earn a little $). It's something I'm grateful for every day. David enjoys working for a fantastic company with the nicest people. We live in the shadows of the most beautiful mountains. Most of all, I'm grateful for our families! What did we do to deserve being surrounded by such wonderful people who inspire us to be better every day?!? For any of you who are reading this - we love you very much!

I'm so glad that the Lord knows what I need and that He has blessed me with David - a loving husband and friend. He is everything to me and I love him!

This year, due to the dwindling number of family members in town (just us and Kim) over the Thanksgiving Holiday, we decided that the whole 9 yards of making a dinner was just not worth the trouble. So, we saddled up and rode out to the nearest Chuck-O-Rama. We had a tasty turkey dinner, without the fuss OR the leftovers, which would have undoubtedly resulted in the gain of an extra 5 holiday lbs.

We introduced Trev to the traditional Turkey Day grub, but he wasn't really into it.... Mashed potatoes are just not his thing!

He did, however, dig the sugar free raspberry apple juice!

Awwww, so sweet. Overall, Chuck-O-Rama was a real hit - a holiday memory to go down in the record books. See ya'll there next year! (Seriously!)

November in Review

With visits from family, the onset of the crazy holidays, and just life getting in the way, November has passed by completely undocumented – until now! It feels like an eternity because so much has happened, but we’ll go with the condensed version….

Nov 13 - 17

Grandma LeeLee's comin' to town The long-awaited visit was a real hit. Trevor loved his bonding time with his LeeLee and we had a fabulous time. Sometimes a girl just needs her mama, so it was a great week for me too. Here are just a few pictures of our fun little week.

The above pic is of the Santa hat that Sydnie knitted for Trevor. She's amazing!

Trevor stands up!
Why the picture of the garbage can? This is the site of Trev’s first stand up. I didn't have the camera with me when it actually happened, so he's not standing in the picture, but I just wanted to have the event documented. David and I were standing at the sink doing dishes/making dinner and we looked over and Trevor just let go of the wall and wobbled a bit, but caught his balance. You could just see the wheels turning as his beautiful brown eyes lit up with pride and excitement for this new discovery.

It’s a slippery slope from standing to walking. Within days of standing, Trevor takes his first wobbly steps out into the world.

It’s hilarious watching him wobble over drooling and grinning all the time and fall giggling into my arms. In this video we tried like a hundred times to get him to walk for us and this was the best I could get... I just grabbed the camera mid-step and got him right at the end as he collided into me. He’s going to be quite the handful!

Ryan comes to town for the BYU game. (Trevor has not learned to like wearing hats!) And… White Thunder - the trusty Taurus - dies a horrible death! And (at the turn of a pretty penny) makes its triumphant return with a brand new, shiny transmission. The dear Taurus deserves a tribute for the years of loyal service it has given us over the past 4 ½ years. With virtually no problems it took us everywhere we needed to go. It really earned/deserved the much-needed makeover.

This little video was from Halloween. How cute is he??

Go Cougars!!

Today Trevor enjoyed his first-ever trip to the beloved Lavell Edwards Stadium for a BYU football game. We could not have asked for a more beautiful day. The Cougs enjoyed a 35 – 16 win over CSU and David was the proudest papa. Trevor met Cosmo, played with Kim and cheered his Cougs on to the big victory!

Trick or Treat!

Everyone knows that Halloween is full of tricks and treats. Today I have for you - a treat! And oh, how sweet it is! Allow me to introduce Grandma Leelee - aka Mrs. Napkin Head.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!

Every year at work we have a huge Halloween party for all the kids. We’re talking 60 adults decking out head to toe in costumes ranging from hideous to hilarious. Everyone gets together with their department and comes up with a theme for their costumes and office decorations. Each group keeps their theme a secret until the day or two before Halloween. One day you’ll walk into the office and find an entire room plastered with butcher paper ceiling to floor and totally decked out in out of this world decorations all over the place! One group made a giant paper mache Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall, another made Rapunzel’s tower, and the grand prize winning group created Gotham City complete with pitch-black bat cave and Alfred the Butler. It’s crazy and so much fun for the kids (not to mention the crazy adults that I work with!).

Mallorie, Rachel, Emily, Leslie

Anyway, my department dressed up as various villains and decorated our offices as a villains’ hangout. I dressed up as Cruella DeVil – nasty wig and all. I know, you’re thinking you’ve never seen a more stylish Cruella. Apparently the costume judges hadn’t either. They awarded me a prize for “Most Stylish Costume.” (Probably because I wear jeans and a tshirt every time I'm there!)

Of course, Cruella must have a puppy to make her costume complete…. Our little Dalmation is too cute, eh? He loves crawling around in that little costume. The along with his latest, funny little sticky-out tongue face that he has been making lately made him absolutely irresistible (a video of this is forthcoming). He didn’t seem phased by the scary costumes or my crazy wig and makeup.

Trevor had a fabulous time. Here he is sampling candy(i.e. drooling all over and chewing on the wrapper).

His best pal Parker came to do some trick-or-treating. Aren't they the cutest cousins??

At home that night, we had a grand total of 3 trick-or-treaters. It was a quiet night. But here was our favorite bunch. All the way from the Land of Oz.

PJ, Laura, and Parker

Amongst all the Halloween excitement little Trevor cut his first tooth! It actually poked through on Tuesday. He was a real trooper!
