Winter Wonderland

Our quiet little corner of the world has become a beautiful winter wonderland. The past few days we've had snow dumped on us... I love the snow, as long as I'm sitting at the window, curled up with a blanket and some hot chocolate and just watching it fall silently all around. I'm not a huge fan of driving or walking around in it! But all in all, this season would not be the same without a blanket of fresh snow.

David and I have tried doing a new little tradition this year. We're doing an advent calendar that has a scripture and Christmas hymn for every day of Dec 1-25th. It's been so nice to sit down for just a brief minute each evening and think about the Savior and let our thoughts about Christmas center on Him. I've really enjoyed this activity and hope we'll do it again next year.

I found another advent calendar on LDS.org and thought I'd share it if anyone is interested in picking up on one or saving it to do next year.

Fa la-la la-la

Here are just a couple of pictures from our weekend at the Zermatt:

The cozy lounge...

This is a glimpse at one of the mountains of gifts. Among these piles are KitchenAids (which is what I chose!), Nintendo Wii (which is what David WISHES I chose), PSPs, telescopes, spa packages, iPods galore, etc.... (This did not include the BIG gifts which were the likes of a brand new washer/dryer, king size bed with luxurious bedding, 3 different trips - Alaska, Boston or Florida, big flat screen... and more.) It was pretty fun to see all the cool stuff that people got.

The little fam.
Sorry about this one, I don't know how to flip it. :)
And last but not least, Trevor met Santa Clause. Poor guy! He wasn't ready for that jolly old soul. He was not very amused, though we certainly were! It was pretty funny.
We had a very enjoyable time. We felt very blessed to be able to enjoy such a nice weekend.
