Family Pictures

Here's the Johnson fam. What an awesome bunch! I'm in Boise right now saying a few hellos/goodbyes! Hello to sweet little Carrie, who is a beautiful little baby girl with the longest fingers I've ever seen! And goodbye to the rest of the clan for a while....
Here's our little fam... I love my guys! (Which might explain the cheese ball smile I've got on my face -- really, there's no other way to explain it! What a dork!)

Catch up Ya'll!

Here I am again popping in for a quick update. I had once planned on a big update on all the goings on between December and February, but instead.... Fast forward to NOW!

So, the news is that David got a new job with Baylor College of Medicine. Sooooo, we're moving to Houston. We'll move out the end of this month, crash at Kim's and the Joneses' for a week or so and then make our way down there next month. Then The Hae Hae's and Straws have been kind enough to put us (and all our stuff!) up until we can find a house. Seriously, what would we do without family?! I can tell you what we wouldn't be doing - moving to Houston! :)

Anyway, I'm so excited for David. He seems really excited about his new job and we are in for a great adventure.

We will miss being so close to friends and family and David seriously might go into a depression without BYU sports close by. (Please no one bring up football with him! You don't want the poor boy to die!)

But here we go -- off to the big T!

Not Dead....

Just barely keeping my head above the water and will hopefully swim to shore soon, so I can take some time to post the latest and greatest.....

Winter Wonderland

Our quiet little corner of the world has become a beautiful winter wonderland. The past few days we've had snow dumped on us... I love the snow, as long as I'm sitting at the window, curled up with a blanket and some hot chocolate and just watching it fall silently all around. I'm not a huge fan of driving or walking around in it! But all in all, this season would not be the same without a blanket of fresh snow.

David and I have tried doing a new little tradition this year. We're doing an advent calendar that has a scripture and Christmas hymn for every day of Dec 1-25th. It's been so nice to sit down for just a brief minute each evening and think about the Savior and let our thoughts about Christmas center on Him. I've really enjoyed this activity and hope we'll do it again next year.

I found another advent calendar on LDS.org and thought I'd share it if anyone is interested in picking up on one or saving it to do next year.

Fa la-la la-la

Here are just a couple of pictures from our weekend at the Zermatt:

The cozy lounge...

This is a glimpse at one of the mountains of gifts. Among these piles are KitchenAids (which is what I chose!), Nintendo Wii (which is what David WISHES I chose), PSPs, telescopes, spa packages, iPods galore, etc.... (This did not include the BIG gifts which were the likes of a brand new washer/dryer, king size bed with luxurious bedding, 3 different trips - Alaska, Boston or Florida, big flat screen... and more.) It was pretty fun to see all the cool stuff that people got.

The little fam.
Sorry about this one, I don't know how to flip it. :)
And last but not least, Trevor met Santa Clause. Poor guy! He wasn't ready for that jolly old soul. He was not very amused, though we certainly were! It was pretty funny.
We had a very enjoyable time. We felt very blessed to be able to enjoy such a nice weekend.

The Zermatt

David, the Trevster and I are in beautiful (but unfortunately not snowy) Midway, UT living it up at the Zermatt Resort. So far we have enjoyed an evening of hot chocolate and cider, as well as a fondue fountain - YUM! David is snoozing on our king-size, four-poster bed watching ESPN on the flat screen and I just got back from a GNO in the hot tub with the girls from work. We're definitely living the fabulous life. Pictures are to come.....

Happy Thanksgiving

The craziness of the holiday season has kicked in and we're going full speed ahead into 2008! But before this year slips away, we have many thanks to give for the wonderful things in our lives. This year we added a brilliant light to our lives - little Trevor! He's turned our lives upside down, and we're loving it. I have had the blessing to be able to work from home so that I can be there for Trevor, but still do a job I love (not to mention earn a little $). It's something I'm grateful for every day. David enjoys working for a fantastic company with the nicest people. We live in the shadows of the most beautiful mountains. Most of all, I'm grateful for our families! What did we do to deserve being surrounded by such wonderful people who inspire us to be better every day?!? For any of you who are reading this - we love you very much!

I'm so glad that the Lord knows what I need and that He has blessed me with David - a loving husband and friend. He is everything to me and I love him!

This year, due to the dwindling number of family members in town (just us and Kim) over the Thanksgiving Holiday, we decided that the whole 9 yards of making a dinner was just not worth the trouble. So, we saddled up and rode out to the nearest Chuck-O-Rama. We had a tasty turkey dinner, without the fuss OR the leftovers, which would have undoubtedly resulted in the gain of an extra 5 holiday lbs.

We introduced Trev to the traditional Turkey Day grub, but he wasn't really into it.... Mashed potatoes are just not his thing!

He did, however, dig the sugar free raspberry apple juice!

Awwww, so sweet. Overall, Chuck-O-Rama was a real hit - a holiday memory to go down in the record books. See ya'll there next year! (Seriously!)
