Ouch!

Trevor's first scraped knee - he was running in the street. He was pretty tough, but as you can see by the look on his face - he really knows how to play it up for some sympathy.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is Grandma Jones' birthday! We love you! This picture is already a year old, and is missing Evan and Whitney, but these kids are lucky to have such a wonderful grandma!

Madsie and the Trevster

Madison and Trevor are having a great time playing together. They have their moments of getting along and then a few shouting matches - "No! NO! No! NO!" They've got that word down. One of the funniest things you will find them doing is racing up and down the tile between Carin's front door and the living room. Trevor will say "Ready! Set! Go! (which really mostly just sounds like "De-de-doooo!"). Sometimes they'll also sit side by side on the bottom step, just to take a little breather.

I caught this video of them a few nights ago. Unfortunately, it was dark and the lights didn't work at the time... but the laughter is the best part anyway!

Not only has Trevor been having so much fun with his new friends here in Houston, but I am also having so much fun hanging out with Carin and Danelle. Carin and I take the babies for a walk on some mornings and run errands and meet Danelle and Evan for a fun outing each week. We're really living the life!

Conference Weekend and Buzzcuts

Hope everyone had a great Conference weekend. We watched conference online at Danelle and Aaron's and chased after the little ones. I enjoyed the talks that I actually heard, and I love President Monson. I thought the cover of this month's Ensign really depicted who he is. Warm and happy and real.

Sunday afternoon I gave David a haircut and David gave Trevor a little buzz. It's not totally bald, but a cute little short do. I wonder if he looks at all like his Grandpa George when he was little? I have to say that I think the poor boy looks like his mom. Especially the picture that I put over on the side where he's smiling really big. Mom, you'll have to do a comparison and let me know.

Look out! Here we have Trevor and Evan, the dynamic duo a.k.a. TREVAN, cruisin' the double cart at Costco. Watch out ladies!! Danelle, I'm thinking these two are going to keep us on our toes!

Basghetti!

This has become one of Trevor's favorite meals. It ranks right up there with applesauce, animal crackers, and yogurt. Though I must say that the little T-rev is not one to turn away from any meal. You basically can't show him food unless you are planning on letting him have some. You gotta love that cheesy smile - my little piglet!

At "home" in Houston

We are finally "settled" in Houston. David has had his first week (and now a couple of days) at work and seems to be liking it. (As far as we can tell from the bits and pieces we wrestle out of him!)

Since we arrived we have been staying with David's sister Carin and her family. It is a lot of fun, though we just hope that we haven't already worn out our welcome! So we are here, but not really at home or settled yet. Trevor just loves his cousins and has so much fun walking them to the bus stop in the morning, then going outside to greet them when they get off the bus. Lauren has so much energy; every afternoon she's the 1st one off the bus and sprints all the way down to the house waving and shouting "Melissa! Trevor! Mom! Madsie!" It's pretty cute.

On the first day we were here we had a BBQ at the park - although now I'm told that those are called "cook outs" so we'll have to get the lingo down. Trevor was hilarious! Usually he has been pretty apprehensive about slides and playground equipment, but his new idol, Brandon, was out playing and I think he just wanted to be like the big boys. So he climbed all around and did the slides and everything. The first slide, he went down with Brandon. (I was a little nervous, but just figured I'd have to go with it.... He can't be my little baby forever!) Then the next time he went down, I put him up there and tried to position him, but he was too quick. He went down face-first before I could catch him. I couldn't even get him to sit long enough to get a good video of it. HE LOVED IT! I couldn't believe it.

I still have this overwhelming sense of gratitude for everyone who continues to support us! I am so grateful to Barbara for making the long drive with us and just being the best mother in law in the world. She has always made me feel like one of her own, and I look up to her so much for the way she loves and supports everyone around her. And to Julie for making a 24 hour trip in TWO days with David - you're the best Jules! Not to mention the time it took to travel to SLC and then back to Cali! Trevor also loved the story time.





We are also so grateful to the Hae Haes for letting us stay with them and interrupting their normal routine. We can't thank you enough!!!!!
