Basghetti!
This has become one of Trevor's favorite meals. It ranks right up there with applesauce, animal crackers, and yogurt. Though I must say that the little T-rev is not one to turn away from any meal. You basically can't show him food unless you are planning on letting him have some. You gotta love that cheesy smile - my little piglet!
At "home" in Houston
We are finally "settled" in Houston. David has had his first week (and now a couple of days) at work and seems to be liking it. (As far as we can tell from the bits and pieces we wrestle out of him!)
Since we arrived we have been staying with David's sister Carin and her family. It is a lot of fun, though we just hope that we haven't already worn out our welcome! So we are here, but not really at home or settled yet. Trevor just loves his cousins and has so much fun walking them to the bus stop in the morning, then going outside to greet them when they get off the bus. Lauren has so much energy; every afternoon she's the 1st one off the bus and sprints all the way down to the house waving and shouting "Melissa! Trevor! Mom! Madsie!" It's pretty cute.
On the first day we were here we had a BBQ at the park - although now I'm told that those are called "cook outs" so we'll have to get the lingo down. Trevor was hilarious! Usually he has been pretty apprehensive about slides and playground equipment, but his new idol, Brandon, was out playing and I think he just wanted to be like the big boys. So he climbed all around and did the slides and everything. The first slide, he went down with Brandon. (I was a little nervous, but just figured I'd have to go with it.... He can't be my little baby forever!) Then the next time he went down, I put him up there and tried to position him, but he was too quick. He went down face-first before I could catch him. I couldn't even get him to sit long enough to get a good video of it. HE LOVED IT! I couldn't believe it.
DIRTY BOY=HAPPY BOY
We are also so grateful to the Hae Haes for letting us stay with them and interrupting their normal routine. We can't thank you enough!!!!!

On the road again...
The navigator!

Trevor enjoying some Lucky Charms from Gma.

What did parents do without modern technology?!?! Little Einsteins and Mickey Mouse saved the day!
Barbara, Trevor, Kyle and I hit the road on Thursday afternoon to make our way to TX. The trip had quite an entertaining start... First, we had Barbara in tears listening to Brian Regan's stand up routine - Did anyone bring a boxen of Kleenex??? Then, in Santa Rosa when we switched drivers Kyle got pulled over after seriously 30 seconds behind the wheel. The violation? Not coming to a complete stop before exiting the parking lot of Burger King. Luckily, the cop had mercy on him (Kyle, do you have another police officer brother living in Santa Rosa?) and let him off with just a written warning. And, "not to be facetious or nothin'.... everyone should know that running a stop sign is a serious problem in Santa Rosa and it really causes accidents if you don't come to a complete stop" - a direct quote from the police officer who pulled him over.
After Santa Rosa, the trip was quite uneventful. We did learn that Trevor is not a fan of travelling at night; he didn't like waking up in the dark. But we stayed over in Childress, and had a fairly smooth trip all the way to Houston.

King of the TUB
YAY! Trevor has finally returned to his old self and once again love, love, LOVES his bathtime. He had a rough spot there for a while where bathtime was terrible. He would cry so hard and just make it miserable for us both. Grandma Jones bought him a cute little Elmo toy and Ta-Da! He's my waterbaby again!

Life in the Land of Enchantment
We have begun our move to Texas and Trevor and I have safely arrived at our first destination in the long exodus. On Monday we made the drive down to New Mexico to stay with the Joneses for a little over a week before Barbs, Trev and I will make the drive down to Houston. On the way to Flora Vista we stopped in for a little visit with Great Grandma Jones in Blanding. Trevor was relieved to have a break from the drive and played with Grandma and ran around the yard.

After Blanding, we stopped by the Hawses and spent the night there. Kylie was hilarious; she had Trevor laughing so hard. The great kind of laughter where you throw your head back and sometimes you don't even make a sound. Of course, the harder Trevor laughed the crazier Kylie got. So cute!
I am really missing my David! He's hanging out in Utah to finish out his last two weeks at work. Right now he's actually in Vegas with the brothers and Ryan and others... If he was not so lame and would do a post on this blog, then maybe you all would hear about the trip... :) But it sounds like they are having fun just having a guys' weekend. And it doesn't hurt that the Cougs have won their first 2 games. Let's hope they can pull it out tomorrow. Go Cougs!
I'm just waiting until next Sunday til we meet up with David in Houston - can't wait.
Here in Flora Vista Trevor and I are having the best time. The one-on-one time with Grandpa and Grandma Jones is so much fun. I'm glad that Trevor is getting to know his grandparents; he is loving it. We have been going on walks (the first day we were here we went out 3 times, he can't get enough) up the road to look at the horses, listen to the birds, and cross paths with cats, dogs, or chickens/roosters that might be passing our way. He is begging at the door by about 8:30 am with shoes in hand and I have to try and distract him until at least 11:00 or so for it to warm up.
Speaking of animals, Trevor can now recite the sounds of the cow, lion, elephant (this is technically a mime, but we'll count it!), snake (it's a hit and miss with this one...), and the most recent addition CAT. It's amazing how fast these kiddos learn stuff. I've been working like crazy for him to recognize his body parts, but he's resisting. I finally had success with the nose and ears. A small victory!

Leaving Utah
Thanks to Paul, David, and my Mom's blood, sweat, and tears, we have moved out of our PG apartment and shipped our junk to Texas, where Danelle and Aaron (and others too, I'm sure!) kindly unloaded our moving truck. Thank you all soooo much for all your help. We would be totally lost without our families!
My mom came and helped us clean and pack up the apartment, which saved us so much stress, work and worry. She is the hardest workin' lady I know - we could not have made this move without her help. It was so hard to say goodbye, though it seems like it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I have been living away from home in a different state for nearly seven years.... But for some reason moving more than a 24-hour drive away seems so sad in many ways. I think I will just miss feeling like she is just a roadtrip away! Though, she's always a phonecall away and I know that if I really need her she will be there without a doubt. But I was just lucky to have her help, love, and support through this all. She's the best Mom in the world!!!
Kim let us stay with her for a few days (and David is still hanging around her place until next week when he is going to meet us in Texas). So we are forever thankful to her as well! Plus it was just fun to hang out with her for a while before moving far away. Trevor will miss his birthday buddy, but he's so lucky to have a great aunt to have such a special bond with. We love you Kimmy!!!!!!
During the last week we spent in Utah Trevor and I had so much fun hanging out with our best pals Parker and Laura. We will miss you guys so much! I am forever grateful to Laura for all her help with Trevor over the past year and for being my good friend - from playing basketball, hangin' at the pool, playing games, having a spa day, and just having a great time doing whatever.
Trevor and Parker at the duck pond.
Good-bye hugs.
So on we go, into this new and exciting chapter of our lives!
